The Innovator in Impact
Alecia Hill, MPA
Vice President & Assistant Portfolio Manager, FCP | Chair, LOCUS: Responsible Real Estate Developers & Investors | Chair, NMHC Workforce Housing Committee
Institutional Capital Allocator | Impact Investor
Alecia Hill is experienced in impact investing, real estate finance, and public policy. As Vice President and Assistant Portfolio Manager at FCP, she co-leads the firm’s national affordable housing preservation platform while helping steer its broader impact investment strategy—directing capital toward underserved low- and-moderate communities historically excluded from wealth-building opportunities.
Alecia brings a distinctive background to the table, having transitioned from the arts to real estate— a move that sharpened her interdisciplinary skill set and deepened her appreciation for the power of place. “Career changers are often underestimated,” she reflects. “But I’ve learned that what is for you is for you, and I have focused on building a tribe that sees the value in my journey—and, most importantly where I’m headed.”
“Among my proudest moments was being elected Chair of Smart Growth America’s LOCUS Coalition Steering Committee, a coalition of purpose-driven developers and investors advancing transited oriented development and smart growth nationwide. Some of the most influential and successful real estate developers, investors and stakeholders have participated in that coalition over the years. To have the support of industry peers to sit in that seat with the opportunity to influence relevant housing policy and bring my practitioner expertise to bear alongside of other impressive and experienced industry leaders is extremely rewarding.”
Prior to FCP, she served on the Impact Investing team at Enterprise Community Partners, where she contributed to Opportunity Zone fund structuring, innovative capital models, and transaction underwriting.
In 2024, Alecia was named Chair of Smart Growth America’s LOCUS Coalition, a national network of developers and investors advancing transit-oriented, sustainable, and equitable development. It’s a role she calls one of her proudest: “To have the support of peers in that room—where federal policy, capital strategy, and community needs intersect—is rare and meaningful.”
She’s earned national recognition, including
- 2024 National Multifamily Housing Council Emerging Leaders Young Guns Award
- 2024 National Association of Investment Companies UP Fellow
- Young Leaders Fellow, Columbia University Sustainable Investing Research Initiative
- Black Venture Institute Fellow, Berkeley Haas
Alecia holds a Master of Public Administration in Management and Finance from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor’s in English Literature from Columbia University. She is also an alumna of McKinsey & Company’s Black Leadership Management Accelerator and Wharton’s Social Impact Initiative (TIPC).
She serves on several mission-aligned advisory boards, including the National Housing Crisis Taskforce, BILT Foundation, and the Washington Partnership to End Homelessness.
Her leadership is fueled by the legacy of Black women in her family—educators, doctors, business leaders—who came from modest beginnings and forged new paths. Alecia brings that same ambition to her own journey: “I’m working toward a long, impactful career built on conviction, confidence, and consistency.”
Her motto:
“Trust your gut. Run your own race. Know when to pivot.” And above all, “There are no shortcuts—be intentional, be relentless, and define success on your own terms.”
